- Create a new folder for every project that includes all the video, multimedia, and audio files you use, as well as a folder for each file type.
- The more organized you have all components you will use for each project, the easier it will be to search through them and make changes. Try to adhere to the same structure when working in the program.
- Always create a folder that contains all the files that have been auto-saved by Premiere.

10 essential Premiere Pro shortcuts

Note 1: Use Ctrl for Windows, use Command for Mac.
Note 2: Use Alt for Windows, use Option for Mac.

- Shift+=/–. Expand and minimize your timeline tracks. Ctrl+=/– (Cmd+=/–) handles only video track height, and Alt+=/– (Opt+=/–) only audio track height.

- I and O. Mark In and Out points. You can clear these points using the command Ctrl+Shift+I (Opt+I), Ctrl+Shift+O (Opt+O), and Ctrl+Shift+X (Opt+X).

- D is the keyboard shortcut for Select Clip at Playhead.

- K pauses playback.

- The backslash (\) will adjust the zoom on your sequence to show everything in the timeline.

- Shift+Ctrl+A (Shift+Cmd+A). Deselect All clips, effects or whatever it is you have selected.

- Ctrl+K (Cmd+K) cuts the clip in two (Add Edit). Add Shift to cut all clips under the Playhead in two.

- Ctrl+0 (Cmd+0) will open a new project. Ctrl+N (Cmd+N) will add a new sequence.

- F is for Match Frame. Hover over any clip in the sequence and hit F to open the master clip in the Source Monitor at the exact same frame.

- X will mark the clip under the Playhead, but the / (forward slash) key will set In and Outs around all the clips you currently have selected.
